Pork cheeks

Today's recipe is not a common one but it is really easy to prepare. For a big platter we need:
  • 1 and a half kilos (2.2 pounds) of pork cheeks
  • 3 big onions
  • 2 or 3 garlic cloves
  • Pepper grains
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1/2 cup of cognac or one glass of white wine
  • 1/2 glass of water
  • Olive oil
  • Salt

While preparing the ingredients preheat oven to 200º.

Chop the onions and the garlic, then cover the bottom of a ovenproof dish with olive oil and add the cheeks, the onion, the garlic, the pepper grains, the bay leaf,  the cognac or wine, the water and the salt, in that order.

Once the over is preheated put the platter in and when the liquid starts boiling turn the temperature down to 180º and stir occasionally. Wait around one hour and a half and when it looks like the next picture it will be ready.
