Peppers stuffed with minced meat

Our first recipe is a very simple one but not less tasty. You will only need this simple ingredients: [sweet] peppers, minced meat, a clove of garlic, one egg, chopped tomatoes, vegetable oil (preferably olive oil), salt and ground pepper.

The required amount to fill 5 peppers are:
  • 500 g (17 oz) of minced meat. Beef, pork or chicken (free choice).
  • 1 clove of garlic.
  • 1 egg.
  • 1 can of chopped tomatoes (800 g / 28 oz).
  • A pinch of salt.
  • A little ground pepper.
  • Some vegetable oil (preferably olive oil).
First, hollow the peppers by cutting the top part and taking the seeds out. For the thicker ones is also necessary to make a little hole in the bottom to let the juice out.

Once the peppers are ready, mix the the minced meat, the egg and the garlic preciously minced.

Then we'll use the mix to fill the hollowed peppers.

The next step is covering the bottom of a pot with the oil (just enough to cover it) then put the peppers in, cover the pot with a lid and place it over medium-high heat for 3 minutes. After these 3 minutes add the chopped tomato, a pinch of salt and a little ground pepper.
Once the tomato starts boiling lower the heat.

Last, cook everything over low heat for 40 minutes until it's well cooked.


As you can see this is an easy cooking dish which preparation is no more than 10 minutes apart from the 40 minutes of low heat cooking.
